In 2019, in conjunction with the renovation of Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd Kansai Branch's new office in Hommachi, Osaka. We introduced audio and video equipment from AstroServe. When Mitsui Fudosan relocated its head office, the company implemented various initiatives over a five-years period based on the idea that "when the office changes, the way we work changes. Similarly, the Kansai Branch office was designed based on the concept of the "COLOFUL WORK PROJECT", which allows everyone to choose how they want to work in the office according to their lifestyle. We asked Mrs. Koga of the General Affairs Department of the Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd Kansai Branch for her impressions of the systems after its introduction.
Reception Area: signage with projected corporate introductions welcomes visitors
- ― What changes have you experienced since the introduction of this system?

The new office has been well-received for changing people's attitudes toward the way they work. Communication got better Sharing materials through signage and projectors. We will continue to work with our group companies to provide clients with even better products as a comprehensive developer. In order to accomplish this, we need a place where we can communicate with people inside and outside. As a symbol of this, a large signage system has been installed in the collection area. We use it for training and events with invited group companies. I think we were able to achieve this kind of cooperation with the group through the system implemented this time. The awareness that "ideas are generated by gathering and discussing" has increased, and I believe that everyone, including those in the Group, has come to understand the importance of providing better proposals to clients.
- ― What is the feedback from employees and clients?

Everyone loves to use the projection area saying it is very user-friendly. Believing that good idea comes up when you are relaxing, rather than you feel stress. We introduced putting golf field to the projection area, which all our staff can enjoy without making an appointment. It seems to be good in terms of avoiding the three Cs for preventing COVID-19 infection.
- ― Have you been satisfied with our staff?

They were very polite. They explained to us the specialized system in a way that was easy to understand. Also, after installation, they took great care to avoid tangling the wiring so that we could perform maintenance easily.
- ― We have heard that your company are actively working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic. Please tell us about the current situation and future challenges and services you would like us to provide?

Even before the outbreak of COVID-19, we, Mitsui Fudosan, had been promoting the installation of an ICT environment in which employees can work from anywhere. 90% of employees smoothly shifted to working at home after the declaration of the state of emergency. We are currently maintaining an attendance rate of 50%, which we would not have been able to achieve without the introduction of those systems. We mainly use Microsoft teams and Webex for internal web conferencing and Zoom for training, and we use Outlook to keep things running smoothly. One of the issues is that all our internal documents are now digital and do not require seals, so it would be good if we could digitally handle external transactions and governmental procedures as well.
